Product Description

Being offered is a Revolutionary War / Colonial era pewter spoon measuring 7” x 2 ½”.  It is a transitional English spoon showing the typical deep, round bowl and drawn handle of English spoons dating from the last quarter of the 17th century while offering the shaped handle of the 1st quarter of the 18th century.

There is a British Crown hallmark on the inside of the bowl near the handle. There is an example of one of these spoons in the Smithsonian Museum (see pictures). All original and period, this rarely surviving common use spoon remains in excellent condition with that natural age patina of antique pewter.

Very nice condition considering the age of this spoon. Fits great into my American Revolutionary War collection. I'm always pleased with items I get from Yankee Rebel Antiques. The fast shipping, secure packing are always consistent. And I don't have to be concerned of the authenticity of the item from this knowledgeable and honest seller.
