This is another interesting early piece being offered, it is a publication titled “THE PENNY MAGAZINE – of the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge”. It states that it is published every Saturday. This copy is six pages and is dated “August 8, 1835”.
The front page is “Durham’s Cathedral” in England which had started to be built in 1093. Another engraving within the pages is the Piazza of Monte Cavallo in Rome. The purpose of these publications was to give the common person a view and information of things they never heard of or seen. It is in remarkable good condition for a fragile paper almost two centuries old.
