Product Description

This is another nice early piece coming out of a 60-year collection of French & Indian War, Revolutionary War, and War of 1812 artifacts. Being offered is a Revolutionary War soldier’s wallet. It is leather and measures 7” x 4 ½”. The front has a closing tab that tucks into the wallet.

The front folds down to reveal hand-sewn pockets. They would have held paper currency, records, personal papers, orders, and currency. circa. 1760. Similar examples can be seen in “Collector’s Illustrated Encyclopedia of the American Revolution”, by Neumann and Kravic (see pictures).

This is the first time this wallet has been on the open market, and it is truly a great piece of early American History. It definitely merits a place in an advanced collection or museum. It is in nice condition with beautiful age – perfect for display. As with all the pieces in this esteemed collection, a Certificate of Authenticity will be included.
