Revolutionary War Pewter Spoon with partial identification

This is another interesting item being offered, it is a partially identified Revolutionary War pewter spoon. This heavy spoon measures 8 ¼” x 1 ¾” and engraved on the handle is “B. DUMALL”.

In the American Revolutionary War Museum there is an example of a similar pewter spoon, as well as in the “Collector’s Illustrated Encyclopedia of the American Revolution” (see pictures). These spoons were not issued by the government, but many were brought from home by the soldiers.
