Revolutionary War Pewter Spoon, as in museums and books

This is another interesting item being offered, it is a Revolutionary War pewter spoon measuring 8 ¼” x 1 ¾”. Spoons from the 18th century tend to be more straight between the bowl and handle – later examples had more of an arch.

In the American Revolutionary War Museum there is an example of a similar pewter spoon, as well as in the “Collector’s Illustrated Encyclopedia of the American Revolution” (see pictures). These spoons were not issued by the government, but many were brought from home by the soldiers. It is in very nice condition and would make a great addition to any collection.
