Rare 1912 Illustrated Magazine "A History of the Civil War" (SOLD)

This is another nice item being offered, it is a magazine titled “A History of the Civil War”. This soft-cover publication was put out by The War Memorial Association in 1912. There are 33 pages filled with wartime photographs from the famous Civil War photographer Matthew Brady.

The first page of the book is an 8 ½” x 12” one-sided color print by 19^th century artist Henry A. Ogden, titled “Meade at Gettysburg, July 2, 1863”. Often when these publications are in poor condition, this heavy-stock print is removed and framed. However, this book is in very nice condition for being over 100 years old.
