Original Civil War era Marbles (SOLD)

Civil War marbles. These are six clay marbles from the mid 19th century which were rolled by hand. The different sizes and not perfect shape attest to them being hand made. Some of these type of marbles would be painted with designs but playing with them in the dirt quickly wore off the paint. Games of marbles were highly popular with the usually young Civil War soldiers. The glass display case is also included. They go nice with a display of a soldiers personal effects.
