This is another piece from the large Civil War collection I am working on. It is a Confederate Brass Spur. These above average quality spurs are attributed to Confederate manufacture. In "Confederate, US and Other Civil War Used Spurs", by Bob Baird, there are examples of this spur (see pictures).
The thin iron rowel is missing, which is typical for these spurs but overall, the spur is in great condition with a beautiful aged patina to the brass. In “Civil War Relics from the Western Campaigns”, by Stanley Phillips, there is an example of this spur pictured with other Confederate spurs (see pictures). This would make a great addition to any Civil War collection.
