Original Civii War U.S. Model 1858 smooth-side canteen with cover

This is another nice item being offered, it is a U.S. Model 1858 smooth-side canteen. It has the cork stopper with attachment chain, tin spout, and the three sling loops are also present. It has the original brown wool cover that is almost all intact. There is overall staining which is expected from a canteen that seen use during the Civil War.

In my published book “The Civil War Canteen – Third Edition”, I show and discuss these canteens (see pictures). This canteen will be an excellent addition to any Civil War collection.
