Large Iron Key out of Virginia

This is another nice piece being offered, it is a Civil War era (or earlier) large Iron Key. It measures 6” x 2 1/4”.  There are similar examples of this key in "Civil War Artifacts – A Guide" for the Historian, by Howard Crouch. He feels that these keys were picked up by soldiers in their travels and kept as souvenirs. I recently acquired this key and two others outside of Richmond, Virginia, this is the last one, the others were sold. (FREE SHIPPING)
