Early brass candle stick, ca. 1780 – 1800, with separate snuffer

This is a nice early American brass candle stick being offered, ca. 1780 – 1800.   It measures 7 1/2" high, 4" wide at the base, and 1 7/8” on the top. The side has the butterfly adjuster for raising and lowering the candle. This push-up design was now becoming popular. It also has a separate brass domed snuffer.

Examples of this candle stick would have been used by both American and British during the Revolutionary War era. This piece is solid with a beautiful untouched patina, weighing almost 1-pound. It would make an excellent display piece.
