Civil War soldier’s gun tool and toe tap from the Chickamauga Battlefield

$35.00

Product Description

This is another nice little excavated grouping being offered, there is a soldier’s toe tap, worn on his brogans, and a Civil War gun tool. They were recovered years ago from the Chickamauga Battlefield.

The Battle of Chickamauga was fought on September 18–20, 1863, and marked the end of a Union offensive, the Chickamauga Campaign, in southeastern Tennessee and northwestern Georgia. It was the first major battle of the war fought in Georgia, the most significant Union defeat in the Western Theater, and involved the second-highest number of casualties after the Battle of Gettysburg.

These pieces have been coated for preservation and now they are solid with no chipping or flaking. This is a great little grouping at a low price. They come in the glass top display case pictured.
