Civil War “black glass” Whiskey / Wine Bottle

$85.00

Product Description

This is another nice piece being offered, it is a Civil War wine/whiskey bottle. It is the typical “black glass”, actually a very dark amber, measuring 11 ½” high with a diameter of 3 ¾” on the base. It has the period applied lip. It came out of an antebellum home in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

This bottle is in very nice condition, no chips, or cracks. It is dirty on the inside but could be cleaned if desired. I have liquor bottles pictured in my book, "The Civil War Soldier - His Personal Items” and go into more detail about the drinking habits of Civil War soldiers (see pictures). It would make a nice addition to a display of a soldier’s personal effects.
