Children’s book with hand-colored pages, dated 1847

This is a nice early small Children’s book being offered, it is titled “My Uncle Solomon’s / Book of Rhymes / For / Good Children”. It was published by “Portland: / S. H. Colesworthy.” It is dated on the bottom “1847”. It measures 4 ¾” x 5 ½”.

There are only a few pages, but each scene is hand-colored, which was highly uncommon for a children’s book. It appears the spine was reinforced at one time, but probably over a hundred years ago. A very interesting early little book.
